Illuminate

Marc and I found these awesome Lotus Hanging Lamps in Santa Cruz.  I would love to have this in our home.  http://www.omgallery.com/index.php?cPath=232_159

I can't wait to add a small vintage chandelier to our dining room.  I have been on the lookout!  I am sure I will find something by the end of the summer:)

Wood Floors

It figures.... getting sick and losing my voice is the thing that finally got me to slow down and blog. Marc and I (well I helped a little) recently refinished our wood floors in the living room, hallway, and Chenoa's room. We had new carpets throughout most of the house. But we have dreamed of having hardwood floors for 10 years now. Before we took out the carpet we painted (again). Marc and I chose a light mocha color for the walls. Soon we will be able to add the floor boards and It will look AWESOME!

Home

Well geez life has been so busy. I have had little down time for blogging. It took a weekend of relaxing at home for me to remember all of the things I have been wanting to do. I have to say I am looking forward to winter and the holidays. I have grand plans of crafting, sewing and making my home adorable. I found a desk on freecycle. In the email she was sure to tellme it was nothing special. That's okay because we are making it something special. Well, Marc is anyways. He has already painted it black. It looks fabulous. It matches our black mantel, and dining table we have painted. My desk is not done yet. Soon Marc will paint a pattern (or something) on top. I will post a picture when he is done. I am just so looking forward to having my own space.
Here is a picture of Marc painting our dining table. It's amazing how some old furniture that I grew up with can look entirely new with a coat of paint. I love it! I will post the final picture in a week... stay tuned!

We Bought It

Well we made the big plunge and committed to our first home. It is a bit scary when you are actually signing the papers. Thank goodness our agent met us there and even helped watch the kiddos while we signed. We are so happy we bought this house and are busy but enjoying every minute!

Been Busy

Well I have not been blogging at all lately. But, I have a really great excuse. March is always a super busy time in our family. Chenoa has her birthday, Marc and I have our anniversary. April continues the busy season with Easter and my mother's birthday. So we have something going on almost every weekend. Marc and I recently decided to take advantage of low housing prices and current tax breaks for first time home buyers. We have been incredibly busy and a bit overwhelmed finding the perfect house for us. Well we found "the one." Our offer was accepted now if the inspection and bargaining goes well we will be in by the end of June. I can't wait!

In the front we have a beautiful tree.

The back yard also has gorgeous birch trees. It is calming to be in these yards... lovely.

Kylee Said Thank You; Chenoa Read To Me

When it rains it pours. It seems as if I am expected to cram every possible school and work activity all in to one week. What's up with that? My arm is hurting from work today. Not sure why it wasn't especially difficult. I must have done something strange less leaning more muscle for example. Well not the best timing considering I have a ridiculous amount of flash cards to write. I wish I could buy these printed out by the book publisher. My life would be easier.
Kylee said Thank You this morning after I gave her, her tooth brush. I was very excited. She has been communicating so well. Chenoa had a wonderful time at the gym today. They kept her well entertained. So nice to see! This evening I picked up pizza's to bake at home. They were a big hit. Marc even had a second dinner a finished them off. While I was cleaning I asked Kylee to put a bowl away in her drawer. She has her own drawer for her bottles and dishes. She loves playing with them. So I asked Kylee to put her bowl in her drawer. She left her room where we were. I peaked at the kitchen and watched her open the drawer put the bowl in then close the dwarer and turn to walk back. I could not contain myself so I high fived her, kissed her, and clapped. To keep this wonderful habit going I tried it again with success! After I put Kylee to bed Chenoa read to me. These kids seem so amazing to me!
