Hanging With Cool People

Today Bennett came over for a visit while his mom Paige helped out in her daughter Morgans classroom. We were really looking forward to having him over. The day turned out better then I had imagined. Bennett has incredible manners. He and Kylee get along so well. I first took them into Peet's coffee. They held hands the whole time. Three different people asked me if they were twins and talked about how adorable they are. Everyone they passed by smiled and said hello, those two hammed it up by smiling and giving adorable looks. At home they played. When I started cleaning they had to clean with me. It was fun and funny to see. Of course I took video.

Chenoa had an early day today. When Bennett Kylee and I got in the car they held hands in the car also. I mean really how adorable can you be. Chenoa was so excited to see Bennett and said it was like having a brother. We decided Bennett was so awesome we wanted to adopt. Not that his family would give him up but yeah he is that cool:) Chenoa was also so excited she was able to play with Morgan. The early day really came at the perfect time. I was so happy to end the visit by hanging with Paige as the kids played. Seriously, how lucky am I that I get to spend my Friday hanging with super cool people. One thing I learned. I do enjoy having people over. I really need to make sure our house or town home will allow us extra space for visitors!

Valentines 09

Marc and I have been together for almost 9 years now and we have never celebrated Valentines Day. Before our first Valentines Day I declared how stupid I thought Valentines Day was. Why do we all need to celebrate because someone out there decided we should. Simply because they wanted to make some money. After the years passed by I realized I will take any reason to celebrate. Especially, an excuse for Marc and I to be romantic and enjoy time together. I have been begging Marc to plan a date for us. Every time we plan anything I swoop in and take everything over and plan every little detail. When Marc told me we were going out on Valentines. I told him I didn't want to know anything. He kept it all a secret... Which is a absolute miracle. He did so well planning and everything turned out better than I could have imagined.
We dropped of the girls at Ba Ba Pat's for an evening and morning of Grandma fun. Marc made reservations at the Los Gatos Brewery. Dinner was awesome we started with Crab Cakes, my favorite. I had a cup of Roasted Red Pepper soup Marc had a Cesar salad. My entree was a Roasted Duck Salad and Marc had a Hamburger that looked awesome. Everything was delicious we had said about 8 times throughout the meal how totally good everything was. We were so full we didn't have room for dessert. Although, I did make a little room for espresso. Because we were after all heading out for a late night of dancing in the City.
Marc had us on the guest list at Vessel to see Chuck Love. We headed into the club and it was very clean and decorated well. Everyone looked dressed to impress. Although there was one weird guy walking around in a floor length fur coat. What a nerd. But there is always at least one of those at a club:) After checking out the club I attempted to dance in heels. I realized I had never tried to go out dancing in heels. What was I thinking? Chuck Love started spinning and he started playing a trumpet to his music. Wow that was awesome. That's when I really got down in those heels. The next song comes on and I realize he is doing live vocals to the beat. By the time we had left he had played trumpet, guitar, flute, and sang while spinning his music. I was thoroughly impressed with the music. The only downside to the club was the lack of seating. Most of the seating was V.I.P. This probably wouldn't have normally bothered me. That night I decided I needed to look really awesome so I had to wear heels. It was amazing I was able to dance in those heels but I did okay. Or at least that's what Marc told me. When we got to the car I immediately took them off and put my feet up. They looked pretty beat. All and all we had an absolutely awesome evening. Marc did a great job planning out the evening, something I had always wanted. Thank You Marc!!

Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg

At Christmas Chenoa received her first serious novel. It is called Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg. This book is about the disney fairies. Tinkerbell is in it a little but it is mostly about Neverland and a new fairy named Prilla. Even I am getting into reading the story and when we have extra time and Kylee is entertained I will read an extra chapter. Reading this book has brought some new found excitment to reading before bedtime. Which I started with Chenoa when she was two weeks old. (I was really enthusiastic back then!) Chenoa now is excited to become an even better reader. We often talk about all the really fun books she will soon be able to read. We even plan to read some of the novels at the same time.

I really enjoy reading. One of my goals this year was to make time for this activity. These days I find extra time on my hands to relax and enjoy life. While at the store the other day I spotted the books and headed strait for it. I got the Twighlight book everyone raved so much about. I know I am a little late with the fad. I was always hoping I would find the time to read them so I am excited to get to it. If anyone has any ideas for great books let me know. I am starting now:)

Where's The Soy Butter???

When I started hearing about all the peanut butter problems we have been having, tainted batches. I thought I didn't have much to worry about. After all my girls love, love, love soy butter. It's there comfort food. When they are sick and nothing is appetizing. Soy Butter sandwiches always save the day. When lunches are all packed and the girls are out and about. It's soy butter sandwiches they are hoping to find when they open there lunch boxes. In fact I have contemplated making soy butter cookies rather then peanut butter cookies. Of course over the many years of soy butter I can't even bring myself to try it. I love peanut butter to much. That's why when peanut butter was taken of the shelves, it didn't worry me.

What I don't understand is all of the missing soy butter. Trader Joes has always offered great prices on soy butter. So imagine my surprise when I found no soy butter. How is it there was a fully stocked peanut butter aisle. Yet, no soy butter. Here we are a couple weeks later. I have been to 2 Trader Joes, several times and a stop at Safeway specifically for soy butter. All this searching and there is no soy butter to be found. My poor girls are so obviously disappointed with my lunches. They both try to make the best of it. We have been trying sunflower seed butter, turkey sandwiches with cheese... it simply is not the same. It's unclear why this is happening. Hopefully, it won't last to long. Life was so much easier with soy butter.

Sick Days

The last 3 days or so I have spent sick. For some reason my recovery is slow. But I am sure I will be ready for the week starting tomorrow. Here are some things that went through my mind while I lay trapped on the couch or bed unable to move:
1. 25 more things about me
2. Chenoa's homework
3. Drawings for my homework
4. Did Kylee get enough fruit and veggies today?
5. I hope Marc gets home soon
6. I really want some frozen yogurt
7. I am thirsty but I can't get up
8. 25 more things about me
9. I wonder if Marc is on his way home
10.Stop thinking just rest, but I can't sleep my head hurts, I need more medicine but I can't get up.
As you can see it has been a truly eventful couple of days so I will leave you with something fun Kylee and I did before I went and got sick.

We made a bird out of a balloon, she loved it!
