Today my husband and I started date night. We will be regularly having this. I found a wonderful babysitter willing to come on a regular basis. This is a major event for us considering Chenoa has had only one babysitter before about a month ago. I felt such freedom when I was leaving. Immediately when the movie ended I thought of the girls and missed them. A plus, we did some super duper house cleaning today. I came home and the house was clean. All I have to do right now is relax... or study. The movie was really good, however, it was also really sad! It was The Dark Night.
When I came home the sitter told me the girls didn't want to fall asleep. Chenoa kept coming out and saying her tooth was loose. It's understandible that it was a little tough for them to fall asleep. We have our bedtime routine really down. The sitter also played lot's of games with them. Who would want to go to sleep when you can be having lot's of fun. Well I am glad they had fun. Next time I will be able to enjoy myself even more.

Productive
I am loving my job today. It's so slow I had no massages today. I know this should be bad for me but I really needed some extra time to study and workout of course. I have been having a hard time fitting it in. I spent 2 hours reading for Microbiology. I felt so much better! Then I decided to do a long run. I have to catch up on my long runs also. Only 4 miles but, I feel better! The girls were so tired today. Kylee took a two hour nap and Chenoa watched some T.V. and I cleaned it was fabulous. I mopped the kitchen, cleaned the bathrooms, did laundry, the dishes. I got so much done today. I feel so much better!
And now I only have to get ready for waking up super duper early to be out of the house with Kylee before 7am. I hope I make it. Now I am relaxing with Marc and watching Magnum. All is right in my world.

First Day Of 1st Grade
Chenoa was excited about her first day of school. Finding parking was a nightmare. It took me about ten minutes to find a spot. (I am not exaggerating) Having been through this before. I knew to put the recommended list supplies in there spots and find Chenoa's seat after hanging her backpack up. I introduced myself to Chenoa's teacher. She seemed nice, she reminded me of a family friend. This was comforting to me. I felt good as I left Chenoa. She didn't seem to care that I was saying goodbye. On the way out I saw Marc's cow-worker and his wife. There little one is in Chenoa's class with her. The same as last year before we were deferred.
After my speech class where I did my first speech. I rushed to pick Kylee up and get to Chenoa's school. I didn't want to be late. I knew Chenoa would be upset if I wasn't outside the room when she was out of class. I was racing the clock and there was no parking. Darn it, I was late after driving around the school to find parking on the corner. I had to put Kylee in the stroller and give her a snack she was hungry and crying. I made it to her class when I saw kids walking away. I was so sad. But when I walked to Chenoa's class I saw lot's of kids still there! Chenoa spotted me and hopped in front of me. She said I want to stay here longer with a huge smile on her face. What a relief. She hadn't concerned herself with me trying to get there. Chenoa was simply happy about her day. She loved her teacher and had made two friends.
At home I fed her snack and she told me stories of her following the rules so she could be in the front of the line. How did I get so lucky?

Get To Know Me Speech
Lately I have been spending so much time reading blogs. Finally, I decided I need to have my own. I was always worried I wouldn't have enough time. Luckily, I have my handy dandy laptop these days so I have my computer everywhere I go. Reading these other blogs makes me feel like there must be something therapeutic in blogging. However, I have to much studying to do tonight. So I will start my first blog with my very first speech for speech class tomorrow. This is to be about an event, person, place or thing who has made me who I am today. Basically a get to know me speech. Keep in mind I have no formal training in speech yet. This is simply an intro for the second day of class.
Hi, my name is Lara I am twenty-eight years old. My husband, Marc and I have two awesome girls. Chenoa who is six and Kylee she is one. After having Kylee I couldn’t wait to hit the gym. When Kylee was six weeks old I started walking on the treadmill. After about a week I was bored. So I started to run. I had done a little running before but I was never an avid runner. At about the same time I saw an ad for the Rock and Roll ½ marathon. This was perfect for me, I thought, it was only 13 miles. This sounded so much better to me than 26 miles a full marathon. My sister has been trying to get me to run a marathon for many years. I signed up for the ½ marathon that day. I also enlisted my mother in law to run with me who was 59 at the time. Because I had a goal it was easy for me to create a plan and stick with it. I came up with a plan using a training web site and condensed it a bit. I had only seven weeks to train most train in twelve.
We had so much fun. They had bands every mile. My favorite part was a man watching on the side who had a large stereo. He was playing the Rocky anthem over and over. That was at about mile 10. It was just the right time. I ran the ½ marathon in about 2 ½ hours. We immediately started planning for the next year. I am starting my training now for the ½ marathon in October.
After running my marathon I realize I can do anything I put my mind too. That is when I decided I could go to school to be an RN despite being so busy. It was important to me to do this for myself. I ran the event in October 2007 and I started school here at Las Positas three months later in January 2008. All my mommy friends thought I was crazy. I was going to school full time, working part time, and being a busy mom. I will be applying to nursing school starting January 2009. It’s something I want to do and I am doing it in record time. Running the ½ marathon has made me a determined person.
